A China Chemical Industry divulgou o seu ranking da indústria global de pneus referente ao ano-base de 2011.
Ele aponta que nas 10 primeiras posições houve apenas uma alteração: a Cheng Shin Rubber, da China, cresceu uma posição no ranking. Com vendas totais de US$ 4,28 bilhões, assumiu o posto que antes era da norte-americana Cooper Tire – que, segundo o ranking chinês, passou a ser a décima maior produtora de pneus do mundo.
No ranking chinês, a Kumho ganhou uma posição, ficando logo atrás da Cooper, com vendas totais de US$ 3,52 bilhões em 2011.
A Bridgestone (US$ 28,4 bilhões em vendas +16,39% ante 2010), Michelin (US$ 27,4 bilhões em vendas +21,78% ante 2010) e Goodyear (US$ 20,4 bilhões em vendas + 20,71% ante 2010) são as grandes líderes de um mercado que movimentou US$ 187,5 bilhões em pneus no ano passado, 21,75% mais que em 2010, quando o segmento movimentou US$ 154 bilhões em vendas de pneus e assemelhados.
